Paradise ponders: small town edition... Starting this past Wednesday, signs like the one at right have been hung on utility poles along the roads approaching Paradise, including the road we live along. Free homemade donuts in the town park, to celebrate the last day of school (this past Thursday, here) and the beginning of summer.
Debbie spotted this gorgeous (and large! about 2.5" long) moth hanging out on our deck screen. Nice looking thing...
When we went to get the mail at our Post Office box yesterday, we found these three goats and a cow all lying together in the only shade to be found in their pasture adjoining the Post Office parking lot. They got up as I approached to take this photo, with the cow moving away and the goats moving toward me. The goats all wanted to be scratched. :)
Yesterday Debbie made us a delicious salmon dish that she's made before. The salmon is marinated in a sauce that includes maple syrup; that sauce is then reduced to be poured over the salmon. She sprinkled our pieces with sesame seeds and chopped green onions, and we had broiled asparagus along with it. Yummy, it was! The salmon itself, though, isn't as good as the Ora King farmed salmon that we love. This was wild salmon, caught by friends here and given to us as a gift. It was good, but not as good as the Ora King...
