Paradise ponders, deep freeze edition... Baby, it's cold outside! It was 12°F when I walked out to my office in the barn, and it's supposed to get down to 0°F tonight (and a high of 15°F!). Our driveway is basically a solid sheet of ice...
Yesterday I was feeling yukky enough that just doing some running around town was taxing. I did very little the rest of the day. The main excitement for the day was dinner: Debbie made her signature broiled scallops – dang, those things are good! Really the only other occurrence of note was the arrival of Kelly R. with most of the missing parts for our doors. He and I spent a half hour removing and reinstalling the glass on the door and sidelight between our bedroom and the sun room – so now they both have built-in Venetian blinds, and the control for the blinds is on the bedroom side. Yay!
I'm feeling a bit better this morning, but I'm going to take it easy today to help my recovery along (I hope!). Debbie's going to make a huge batch of chili today. We'll eat maybe 1/12th of it for dinner tonight, and the rest will go into some vacuum pouches for future meals. I love having a freezer full of this sort of treat, ready for use anytime...
