Debbie and mom update... That beautiful smiling lady at right is Debbie, yesterday, when I managed to sneak in a kitten for her to pamper for a little while. She's doing great – lots of progress on the physical therapy. Today she walked about 30' on a walker, hopping on her one weight-bearing leg. Then she wheeled herself in a wheelchair about 200' to visit another patient – and then back to her room again. Later, she made that same trip again. That's an amazing increment of progress since her surgery 9 days ago...
Mom's not doing quite so well. She fell early this morning and was discovered by aides on the floor. She wasn't injured at all, but she also wasn't responding and had not pressed her emergency button. Yesterday she'd had some confusion and memory issues that already had us concerned. The staff at Williamsburg called for paramedics, and they were able to get her up and talking, but she was still confused. So they transported her to the local hospital, and now she's been admitted for observation and treatment of anything they find. So far they haven't found anything at all. Mom is on the same floor as Debbie, about 200' away – and if you haven't guessed, she's the other patient who Debbie went to visit :)
