Quote of the day...  From “Glosswitch”, the conclusion of the excellent article Why farting is a feminist issue:

Female bodies don’t just exist to be looked at; they leak, smell, make involuntary noises, and what’s more, if they do all that then it’s also likely that they think and feel. But a woman having thoughts and feelings won’t do. Best put her in the corner so no one can see.

I remember reading once that the majority (I think it was about 70%) of adult American women surveyed denied that they farted daily, while (literally) no adult American men did so.  It's easily provable (that pesky science, again) that men and women fart equally (adjusted for body weight), so this denial of the obvious is an interesting phenomenon.  Glosswitch holds it up as a sign of a deeper issue, and, unlike so many feminist causes, this one is objectively for real...
