What's the biggest cash crop?
What's the biggest cash crop? It's marijuana, by a good margin – though I'm not sure how rigorous the data is that supports those numbers. The closest competition is from rice; nothing else is even remotely close – so even if the data is considerably in error, the standings don't change much. As the linked article suggests, it surely won't be long before the needy/greedy governments around the world take note of the success of Colorado collecting taxes on marijuana (3x initial estimates) has been. I'd long thought that legalization would greatly reduce the price of marijuana, but that doesn't seem to be the experience so far...
