Touching history... I've just finished
an excellent book, a non-academic history book focusing on what happened in the U.S. air space when the 9/11 hijackings took place. It's a relatively short and fast read, just 320 pages. The prose is easy to digest, with more than enough detail and new information to keep it interesting. It most especially tells the story of the air traffic controllers, air crews on flights in progress at the time of the hijackings, and the military first responders. I'd have liked some more details on how the hundreds of flights in the air were brought down safely, and their passengers cared for (even from contemporaneous reporting, that was an amazing feat), but this is a minor ding...
