Day 4: Reconfiguration and Scouting...

This is the first morning we woke up in the cabin, and our first entire day in the San Juan Mountains.  We wanted to just take off on an adventure somewhere, but we had some work to do first – the FJ needed to be unpacked, and the offroading gear (hi-lift jack, Pull-Pal, shovel, gas cans) installed.  I also removed the front license plate so that our winch is exposed.  FJ ready!  Then we had a little shopping to do in Silverton, mainly gas for the two spare gas cans.

By late morning we were ready to roll on an adventure, but it had to be something relatively short.  So we wandered up from Silverton toward Corkscrew Gulch, just taking our time and enjoying the scenery – and scouting out the flower situation.  The flower situation is good :)

Miki and Race also had a wonderful time.  Both of them were here with us two years ago, and we think they remembered it.  When we let them out of the car, they immediately started bounding around the meadows.  Race sought out the water, swimming and splashing around at every opportunity.

A great time was had by all...
