I've thought of those trapped Chilean miners often in the past couple of months. Thirty-three men stuck deep (almost a half-mile!) underground, at first without even knowing if anyone was trying to rescue them. What an awful, awful feeling this must have been.
Then a small hole was drilled through to them, and they knew the world was working to get them out. Plus they could talk with their loved ones, and food, water, and medicine was sent down the tiny hole. How wonderful and hopeful that moment must have been!
And now the first of three separate holes has been drilled into the area the trapped miners are in. I'm overwhelmed by it, and I'm just watching the news. Imagine what joy this moment must be for the miners and their families!
I celebrate with them. With any luck at all, those miners will be reunited with their families within a few days...
