The webmaster for the Jamulians Against the Casino site dropped me a note today to let me know about the new “bulletin board” he’s now got running there.
I just went up and registered — a painless, 15 second process — and put a post up. Obviously the word has not yet gotten out about this, as there are only a few posts up there now. Having a single place for the community to discuss the Jamul Indian Casino issues is a great thing. I appreciate all the comments I’ve had on my casino-related posts, but…my blog is not dedicated to this one issue, as the new JAC bulletin board is, and my blog would never make a good “community room” — but the JAC site would!
So if you’re a fellow Jamulian, and you’re concerned about the casino, drop on by there, register, and check back frequently. If the word gets out to enough people, we should be able to have a lively discussion there — and hopefully generate some good ideas. It’s also a way for us to coordinate our actions, and I hope the JAC uses it for that purpose…
Suddenly a vision came to me: a collection of scruffy Jamulians (including me!) demonstrating in front of the Governator’s smoking tent. Burning casinos in effigy. Declaring a connection between casinos and global warming. And autism. And clearly that ground is prime habitat for the Hermes Copper! If we can get the Goracle, the science-challenged, and the environmentalist wackos on our side, we’ll win for sure!
See what happens when I post late in the afternoon?
